MY IKIGAI
Turning Possibility Into Opportunity
for Every Nepali
I believe opportunity has the power to transform lives.
About four decades ago, my father moved from the village to the Kathmandu Valley in search of a better future. At that time, many people who migrated from villages to the city worked as peanut sellers, bhariya (load carriers), street vendors, rickshaw drivers, tempo drivers, and in other informal jobs.
Later, as tourism grew, many found new opportunities by working in the tourism sector or starting trekking businesses. This enabled many families to build homes, buy property, and establish lives in Kathmandu.
Migration is a natural human aspiration. People move not because they love their homeland less, but because they seek dignity, security, and opportunity.
Today, millions of Nepalis live around the world pursuing their dreams. They carry Nepal in their hearts while contributing to societies beyond our borders. A country can only be built by bringing people together.
It takes a village to raise a child. It takes all Nepalis to build Nepal.
My purpose is to use my experience in technology, my understanding of politics and public policy, and my commitment as a citizen to help create a Nepal where every person has the opportunity to live with dignity.
I believe in practical solutions, inclusive policies, and responsible leadership. My mission is to promote equal access to opportunities—especially in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment—and to amplify the voices of those who are often unheard.
If not now, then when? If not us, then who?
